18 restaurants from São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro in total are among the ones with stars. Other 32 places are in the category Bibi Gourmand, with seven of them being added this year.

Those who love good food and restaurants know very well the Michelin Guide. It selects places all over the world that have excellent menus. Brazil now has 18 members recognized, 15 with one star and three with two stars. All of them are in São Paulo or Rio de Janeiro, since the guide still doesn’t evaluate other cities.

The award placed three new names on the list of the best in the country, announced in an event last night (6/5), in São Paulo: Evvai, from chef Luiz Felipe Souza, in São Paulo; Cipriani, from chef Aniello Cassese, and Oteque, from chef Alberto Landgraf, both in Rio de Janeiro. Chef Luiz Felipe also represented Brazil at Bocuse d’Or this year.

There are now 32 Brazilian places at the category Bibi Gourmand, that recognizes the best places in terms of price and quality. The new ones are A Baianeira, Balaio IMS, Barú Marisqueira, Corrutela and Komah in São Paulo. Lilia and Pici Trattoria are representatives from Rio de Janeiro.

But not everything was good news. In this year’s edition, Dalva e Dito and Fasano sadly lost their stars and are not on the list anymore.
