Cymbopogon citratus

Plant in the grass family native to India with aroma and taste reminiscent of lemon. In Brazil, the leaves are often used to prepare infusions, juices and herbal digestive teas, as well as to complement savory and sweet dishes. An essential oil extracted from the plant can be used as an ingredient for the cosmetic and drug industries. Paraná is the largest producer, but it can also be found in other states of South and Southeast regions. The best time to harvest is from October to April.
