- 2 CUPS PEANUTS, ROASTED AND PEELED
- 1 CUP SUGAR
- ½ CUP MANIOC FLOUR, TOASTED, OR FLAKED CORN MEAL (BEIJU)
- 1 DASH OF SALT
Combine all ingredients (if you can’t find roasted peanuts, take them to the oven for 10 minutes at 160°C) and mix, to moist the paçoca. Shape with your hands and place them in molds to get similar candies.
Typical from countryside culture, seen on June Festivities in Pernambuco, Minas Gerais and São Paulo, peanut paçoca became a classic candy all over the country, in squares and in tubes.
